310T Mechanic or 3rd/4th Year Apprentice

Century Transportation is currently seeking a 310T Mechanic for our Port Hope location; 3rd and 4th Year Apprentices will also be considered for this role.  This is an opportunity to be part of a growing company that offers competitive wages, professional growth and work-life balance. The shift for this position is Monday through Friday from 7:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Wage: Up to $40.00 per hour

Qualifications

• Licensed Mechanic - 310T or 3rd/4th Year Apprentice
• Safety Inspection License
• Experience working with a Fleet Management System is considered an asset
• Previous school bus experience considered an asset
• Analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Own hand tools
• Valid Driver’s License
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Computer and diagnostic equipment skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently
• Strong time management skills and well-developed communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Comprehensive screening and background checks are required, including references, drug and alcohol testing and a criminal record check

Key Responsibilities

• Ongoing maintenance/repair of various school buses
• Brake and Safety Inspections
• Compliance with Company policies and procedures as well as the Provincial and Municipal laws and regulations governing the location is a must
