You are trusted to work independently while doing major and minor repairs, performing diagnose to find problems and completing maintenance tasks. 

GSD CRANES INC is looking for 1 Truck Mechanic. This opportunity would be most compatible with individuals that are motivated and ambitious. Located in the New Westminster area (230 Brunette Ave, New Westminster, BC V3L 3E3), this position Long-term permanent full-time employment (40 Hours per week) at $38.00 / hour (overtime is time-and-a-half ) 

Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Requirements: The qualified candidate must be able to perform each essential function successfully. The requirements listed below reveal the necessary skills and ability to perform the position functions. 

  • Completion of High School.
  • Work Experience: 1-2 years of experience is required
  • Basic knowledge of English Language is required
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds

Roles and responsibilities to perform –

  • Performs repairs on company’s trucks and trailers through preventive and predictive maintenance. 
  • Performs routine inspections. Perform advanced diagnostics on engine, drive train, and communication systems using technical and electronic equipment.
  • Determine repair or replacement requirements based on inspection results and manufacturer specifications. 
  • Repairing and troubleshooting major components such as engines, transmissions and differentials, including replacing complete assemblies, drive train, air brakes, steering, and fuel, hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems.
  • Repair, service and maintain hydraulic transmissions, power take-offs, tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, vehicle brake systems, and wheel-mounted vehicle suspension and steering.
  • Select and use appropriate tools, testing equipment and repair procedures to complete repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect and repair trailer structural components, trailer brake systems and trailer electrical wiring systems.
  • Keep records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents of completed repairs. 
  • Test repaired trucks and trailers to ensure safe operation and compliance with road safety standards.
  • Handle cleaning, lubrication, and other preventative maintenance.
