Overview:
The ideal candidate is a someone that excels in a team environment and has a positive attitude. Responsibilities include ensuring equipment and production lines run smoothly and are maintained properly on a day to day basis. Required experience includes troubleshooting, general mechanic repairs, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, general welding and related work (installations, alignment, assembly/disassembly, etc.). Job is Located in Bolton, ON, Canada.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform repairs on machines as required in coordination with operations
· Inspect and examine machinery/equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
· Clean, lubricate and perform other routine preventive maintenance work on machinery
· Operate hoisting, tow motor and use lifting devices such as cranes, chains/belts to position machinery and parts during the installation and repair of machinery
· Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
· Communicate and coordinate with maintenance manager
· Maintain a safe work environment by practicing good work habits and housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines (includes the use of Lock-out/Tag-out)
· Able to work extra hours “if needed” during weekdays and/or on Saturdays (to perform urgent repairs)
Job Knowledge and Education:
· Completion of secondary school
· Industrial mechanic millwright trade certification
· Read, write and speak English
· Basic computer skills
Experience:
Skills:
· Excellent knowledge about equipment mechanical operations
· Basic knowledge about electric diagnostic/troubleshooting
· Experience in steel service centre processing (preferred)
· Use of precision equipment (measurement tape, micrometer, caliper)
· High attention to detail with the ability to follow processes and safety procedures
· Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
· Ability to plan ahead and prioritize repair work
· Ability to stand for up to 9 hours/day and walk, bend, scoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
· Ability to communicate with management, co-workers, ability to work well independently and in a team environment
