Job Description

American Iron & Metal, a Hamilton based Metal Recycling Yard has an opening for an enthusiastic individual to fill a General Labourer - Tow Motor Operator position at our Hamilton Metal Recycling Operation. 

Duties Will Include: 

• Working inside our warehouse on a metal recycling production line 
• Offloading materials from the bailer machine using a tow motor and processing them
• Exceptional attention to detail. 
• Effective communication skills and able to work with multiple departments. 
• Cleaning your work area at the end of your shift 
• Other general labour duties will apply 

Qualifications

• Must have an outstanding safety record and follow all safety policies and procedures. 
• Familiarity with WHMIS 
• Previous recycling experience is considered an asset 
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time 
• Must be able to lift up-to 50lbs 
• Must be able to work independently as well as in a team orientated environment 
• Ability to work in a loud, dusty environment Certificates & Licenses Forklift, Overhead Crane Certified. 

Additional Information

• Full time hours with potential overtime, paid after 44 hours.
• Monday - Friday with some overtime available on Saturdays (based on company needs).

Work Environment: 
Majority of work is performed on the production floor and the incoming inspection area.
