Weyerhaeuser in Grande Prairie, Alberta is seeking to add a Maintenance Reliability Team Leader to its lumber manufacturing team. The successful candidate will have proven abilities or exceptional aptitude in safety leadership, reliability/maintenance practices and technical capabilities with experience working in an industrial setting. Competent in all areas of maintaining strong working relationships, maintenance processes, and administration, the successful candidate will have the ability to grow and develop as a leader within the company. The Reliability Leader is responsible for driving reliability improvements throughout the operation. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Superintendent.

Grande Prairie is located in Northwestern Alberta, in the heart of the Peace Region. It is the largest city North of Edmonton, Alberta's capital city. Key Functions:

• Safely delivering operational excellence in a dynamic manufacturing environment
• Role model all safety standards/processes and on-the-job behavior by living our core values, people principles, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment
• Directly manage the predictive/reliability improvements, innovations, and activities.
• Develop and deliver reliability training for maintenance and operations
• Facilitate problem solving and team meetings
• Assist in ongoing implementation of Weyerhaeuser Standard Manufacturing Processes (SMPs) across the site
• Lead the Root Cause Analysis Process and support the preventative maintenance program to address previous or anticipated failure modes
• Partner with operations and maintenance to record failures with Event Response Forms, video, and alarm system logs
• Provide monthly metrics and status reports to Senior Management
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation
• Share responsibility for attaining a world class reliability culture
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with operations and maintenance personnel, corporate resources, peers, and senior leadership to continuously improve mill operations to improve reliability
• Practice responsible financial management in the execution of maintenance reliability functions
• Continuously improve our preventative and predictive maintenance program following maintenance best practices, improving safety job plans and utilizing SAP
• Remain current and up to date on changing technical, reliability and maintenance management improvements in the industry
• MAs necessary, own or contribute to other mill functions, such as Health and Safety Committee activities or environmental initiatives.
• Support and/or lead capital projects.
• Use data and observation to identify constraints and work with the reliability teams to improve performance
• Track, trend, and report on key performance indicators and help drive improvement
• Utilize computerized maintenance management system (SAP) to ensure reliability processes are thoroughly tracked
• Willingness to support a 24/7 operating environment, which may include weekend and holiday support as conditions require

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Professional reliability certification, such as CMRP, CRL, iBL etc.
• Mechanical Engineer Bachelor’s Degree or Maintenance experience and/or related post-secondary education combined
• Proven ability to establish and maintain positive relationships and promote healthy teamwork
• Excellent planning, problem solving, communication and organizational skills
• Experience working with SAP or other CMMS systems, along with strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Demonstrated experience in effective root cause analysis
• Good working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and PLC programming and/or troubleshooting
• Ability to develop and lead training activities
• Safety training/education is considered to be an asset
• Proven application and development of safe practices in a manufacturing environment
• Initiative to get things done with minimal supervision
• Proven ability to drive and achieve results
• Collaborative and inclusive leadership style
• Experience as a maintenance leader in a manufacturing facility
