Aerial Field Technician – Alberta

Locations: Spruce Grove and Calgary, Alberta

WesTower Communications Ltd. is currently seeking Aerial Field Technicians to join our teams in Spruce Grove and Calgary, Alberta.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform tower and cell-site installation and routine maintenance.
• Complete antenna modifications and additions.
• Repair or replace defective equipment.
• Perform testing to identify and troubleshoot transmission faults.
• Work with fibre and DC systems and interpret engineered drawings.
• Use OTDR testing equipment and perform fibre fusion.
• Follow all company safety procedures and requirements.
• Travel throughout the province and across Canada as required.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of basic construction knowledge and experience using tools.
• Telecommunications troubleshooting experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to interpret engineered drawings, including fibre and DC drawings.
• Knowledge of OTDR testing equipment and fibre fusion.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Physically fit and comfortable working at heights.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Valid Canadian driver’s licence.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain professional working relationships with co-workers and clients.
• Dependable, trustworthy, and positive attitude.
