HVAC Apprentice – 2nd to 4th Year

Neighbourhood Heating and Cooling is looking for an HVAC Apprentice to join our team.

We’re ideally looking for a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th-year apprentice with some residential Installation experience however, experience in residential Service is also an asset.

More importantly, we’re looking for the right person.

What You’ll Do

You’ll work alongside experienced technicians and installers, building your skills in residential HVAC service and installation.

Your work will include:

·       Installing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing residential HVAC equipment

·       Working with furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, and related systems

·       Assisting with gas, electrical, refrigeration, and mechanical work within your training and qualifications

·       Troubleshooting and learning to properly diagnose equipment

·       Performing preventative maintenance and equipment servicing

·       Reading equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and specifications

·       Using hand tools, power tools, meters, and other trade equipment

·       Keeping your vehicle, tools, work area, and jobsites clean

·       Respecting customers’ homes and leaving them as clean, or cleaner, than when you arrived

·       Communicating professionally and comfortably with homeowners

·       Completing accurate job notes and photos

·       Working as part of a service or installation team

Who We’re Looking For

We’re not expecting an apprentice to know everything. That’s what an apprenticeship is for.

We’re looking for someone who wants to learn, takes pride in their work, and cares about the people they’re working for.

You should be:

·       A registered 2nd, 3rd, or 4th-year HVAC apprentice

·       Reliable and punctual

·       Friendly and comfortable speaking with homeowners

·       Clean, presentable, and professional

·       Mechanically inclined and interested in understanding how things work

·       Willing to ask questions and accept feedback

·       Safety-minded and respectful

·       Someone who takes pride in clean, quality work

·       Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

·       Looking to build a career, not just find a job

A valid driver’s licence is required.

A criminal record check is required.

South Delta Residents Preferred

We’re particularly interested in someone who lives in Tsawwassen, Ladner, or the surrounding area.

Our technicians represent Neighbourhood Heating and Cooling wherever they go, not just while they’re on the clock. We like the idea that if you bump into a customer at the grocery store, hockey rink, or around town, you’d give them a smile, a nod, or say hello.
