Job Description

Epic Views is a local property management and renovations company operating in Canmore, Alberta. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Property Maintenance Technician to support the efficient operation of our short-term rental properties. As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the existing properties are well-maintained, stocked with necessary supplies, and that guests have a seamless experience during their stay. You will be assisting in the set up/renovations of new properties and ensuring all properties meet our standards of care.

job duties:

  • Ongoing maintenance of over 40 properties
  • Renovation activities on existing properties and new properties, as required
  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance for residential properties, ensuring safe and functional living environments
  • Identify and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance issues in a timely and efficient manner
  • Complete work orders promptly while maintaining high standards of quality and customer service
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to reduce equipment downtime and costly repairs
  • Repair drywall, paint interiors, and maintain flooring, doors, windows, and fixtures
  • Prepare vacant units for new tenants, including repairs, cleaning coordination, and final inspections
  • Maintain and service HVAC systems, including filter replacements and minor troubleshooting
  • Respond to after-hours emergency calls as part of an on-call rotation
  • Maintain common areas, grounds, and building exteriors to uphold property appearance and safety
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations
  • Manage maintenance inventory and order supplies
  • Document completed work orders and maintain accurate maintenance records
  • Coordinate with and assist tradespersons for major repairs
  • Winterize and de-winterize properties

ability to supervise: 1-3 people – tradespersons and contractors

terms of employment: permanent full-time; 35 hours per week

employment conditions: morning, day, evening, weekend

standard schedule is: Thurs - Mon, 11:00 am – 6:30 pm; Tuesdays and Wednesdays are days off.

*Flexibility on schedule is required depending on the business needs, including overtime and on-call work, as needed.

skills requirements:

  • education: completion of secondary school (high school)
  • work experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance tasks and troubleshooting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality service
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and on call as needed
  • Physical ability to perform manual labour and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Working with power tools, moving heavy furniture and building materials

Other requirements:

  • transportation: own transportation, valid driver’s licence; ability to independently arrive at worksites
  • residence: the successful candidate must reside in the Canmore area or provide proof of secured accommodation in the area if relocation is required
  • This is an in-person, hands-on position; remote work is not possible.
