Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Electrician to join our team on a full time and permanent basis (40 hours per week). The successful candidate will work alongside experienced electricians, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a variety of electrical installations and maintenance tasks. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your skills and advance your career in the electrical trade.
Responsibilities:
Install electrical controls and panel boxes
Replace and repair electrical controls and panel boxes
Professionalism in customer service
Keep maintenance reports and documentation
Splice, join and connect wires
Design and construct low voltage (30 to 750V) multiphase service for single or multimeter
installations
Test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults integrity of circuits
Determine appropriate selection of materials and methods for hazardous locations
Troubleshoot and isolate faults
Connect power to audio and visual equipment
Install surface mount and/or overhead cables
Install power generation, stand-by power generation and power conditioning systems
Renovate electrical systems in residential and commercial structures
Conduct preventive maintenance programs
Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and speci
cations
Commission systems and components

Qualifications and Experience:
Completion of secondary school
Currently enrolled in a recognized electrical apprenticeship program with a one (1) year of on the job training hours logged.
Good knowledge of electrical theory and practices.
Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
Excellent English communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills.
Commitment to safety and adherence to regulations.
Up to date certification for fall protection and working in confined spaces.
Level 1 first aid certification.
Experience in project management.
Excellent understanding of engineering fundamentals.
Good all-around knowledge of the mechanical and electrical systems specifically
common in the marine industry.
Additional Requirements/Skills:
Valid BC drivers license and reliable transportation.
Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
Physically capable of performing the required tasks, including lifting, bending, and
working in various positions.
A complete set of electricians tools that are in working order.
