Skilled Labourer

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the General Labourer is primarily responsible for the cleanliness, security, heating and safety of the construction site.

Major Responsibilities:

• Responsible for locking and unlocking of doors, windows in units under construction, office spaces and storage spaces within the construction project.
• Responsible for Locking and Unlocking homes, doors, windows office and storage.
• Responsible to supply and check propane, natural gas and electric heaters.
• Responsible to clean, remove, sweep, vacuum homes, office storage and exteriors.
• Responsible to perform site truck daily check and reporting.
• Responsible to update, maintain and prepare internal systems.
• Prepared to work in the elements, some heavy lifting required.
• Maintain company provided equipment, tools and vehicle.
• Responsible for Emergency Service shifts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills:

Education/Training:

• Secondary School Diploma

Experience & Skills:

• Knowledge of home construction and the operation of new homes.
• Professional, mature individual construction experience.
• Well organized, confident individual with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• Ability to multi-task in an extremely fast paced working environment.
• Able to work in a team environment and also work independently.

Relationships:

• Internal: Daily interaction trades, suppliers and co-workers.

Effort:

• Work normally requires a high level of physical effort
• Work normally requires a high level of mental effort

Working Conditions:

• Generally works in an indoor house/outdoor elements and construction site conditions.
• Daily travel to appointment throughout Waterloo Region.
• Overtime and Emergency Service After Hours required.
• PPE, valid driver’s license and insurable by our carrier.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $17.00-$22.00 per hour
