Machine Operator

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Based at our operations in Etobicoke, Ontario the Machine Operator will be responsible for ensuring daily production as specified is met as per production schedule, and to finish parts in a safe manner and to efficiently produce quality and cost-effective parts. Also, to contribute to a human work environment where fairness, equity and non-discriminatory practices are the standard.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Following instructions given by the Team Leader.
• Ensure that all production pieces meet quality standards by:

o Ensuring that all production and finished parts are the same as sample provided.

o Once per hour, visually and physically match one production piece to the sample.

o Inform the Team Leader of any differences or problems.

• Trim and inspect parts to meet quality standards by:

o Trimming pieces without creating any defects.

o Ensuring that no defective pieces are packed as good parts.

• Pack and label finished goods according to work instructions.
• Operate all finishing equipment in a safe manner and in accordance with operator instructions.
• Meet daily job assignment standards.
• Actively participate in the continuous improvement process.
• Immediately inform your Team Leader/Supervisor of any visual and/or physical defects found in production pieces.
• Upon first indication of malfunctioning equipment, immediately inform the Team Leader.
• Upon indication of a malfunctioning molding machine, report the incident immediately to your Technician or Team Leader using the Andon system.
• Ensure that there are no production or quality interruptions or errors due to your lack of giving or seeking information by fully informing the Team Leader of all events affecting production.

Minimum Qualifications:

• To operate equipment/assembly, in a safe manner, to efficiently produce quality and cost-effective parts.
• Basic English communication skills both oral and written.
