We are looking for a Dynamic and a well-qualified candidate with experience in Food Manufacturing to join our team in the capacity of Night Shift Production Supervisor at our facility in Toronto.
Definition:
The Production Supervisor reports to Production Manager and plans, organizes, directs, and controls the operations of the production department.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:
· Coordinate the daily start up of production machinery
· Perform or delegate daily pre-operational inspection of production department
· Directing and supervising employees
· Ensuring the requirements of production are met: customer orders are satisfied and production metrics are met
· Monitoring and enforcement of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) requirements and BRC requirements.
· Monitoring and enforcement of Health and Safety Policies and procedures
· Organization and scheduling of manpower per production schedule requirements
· Materials requirement planning, including ingredients, film and cases
· Supporting materials inventory validation, and investigations
· Provide clear communication with purchasing and operation team on material shortage or delays.
· Based on the production schedule and inventory on hand calculate the material requirements to ensure continuous on time ingredients availability for production
· Supporting communication between customer service and warehouse regarding FP orders
· Implement plans to efficiently use materials, labour and equipment to meet production targets
· Develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labour and equipment to meet production targets
· Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality, where necessary adjust equipment, processes and formulation to meet expected standards.
· Train staff in job duties, safety procedures and company policy
· Two way and consistent / constant communication with employees in order to maintain company goals of an exemplary employee relations environment
· Utilization and enforcement of the progressive disciplinary process for coaching and development of staff
· Prepare production and other reports
· Update line efficiency based on current line out put
· Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other departments
· Close working relationship with warehouse, purchasing and quality team to analyze the need for the production.
· Supervise and train or oversee training of employees in the use of new equipment or production techniques
· Making recommendations to management on changes or improvements to processes in order to achieve greater efficiencies and overall company goals
· Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions
· Ensure finish product assessment by checking the products attributes
· Take returned sample from each line and label them
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Skills and Education:
· Ability to:

· Completion of post-secondary school in a relevant or related field of study

· Experience in Food Manufacturing
· Computer literacy and experience in the Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, Outlook.
