Inter-Provincial Industrial Mechanic License (Millwright). (May also consider relevant education and training.)
Valid Manitoba driver’s license.
Experience using electrical and manual tools (hoists, saws, drills, etc.)
Ability to read blueprints, maintenance work orders, and repair manuals as necessary.
Ability to take maintain and repair machines and equipment.
Successful completion of all Carte pre-screening, assessments and tests.
Knowledge and experience with lifting equipment, such as cranes and hoists.
Must possess basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, conversions of fractions
Must be able to be certified as a FORKLIFT OPERATOR and OVERHEAD CRANE OPERATOR.
Must be available to work all shifts – days, afternoons, midnights (Mandatory).
Conduct routine inspections and perform preventative maintenance and repair on machines and equipment
including belts, gauges, valves, pressure regulators, plumbing and ventilation equipment, hydraulic systems,
air compressors, pumps, and high-pressure wash equipment.
Maintain and repair physical structures including fences, gates and roofs.
Perform electrical repairs and troubleshooting in accordance with codes, blueprints, and manuals.
Perform metal fabrication operations including layout, drilling, tapping, sawing, and grinding.
Perform welding and flame cutting operations applicable to MIG, stick, oxy-acetylene, and plasma cutting.
Ability to perform work at heights using scissor lift and articulated lift.
Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety and health regulations.
Oversee contractors with professional repairs when necessary.
Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to achieve and maintain required productivity levels in a dynamic and challenging environment by
effectively organizing, prioritizing, and executing tasks.
Ability to work and make decisions independently without direct supervision.
Capable of performing physical job requirements with ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and consistently reach, bend,
sit, stand and climb.
Reliable, punctual, and positive team-player who is adaptable, open minded, enthusiastic, and takes
initiative, and has strong organizational and time management skills.
Previous knowledge and experience with 5S and Lean Manufacturing considered an asset.
