Job Description

Carte International is seeking an ambitious career-oriented individual to join our team as the Customer Service
Representative/Quotation Specialist. We are looking for a self-motivated team player who will be responsible for general
activities related to meeting customer support needs of current and potential customers.
The Customer Service work is varied and multi-dimensional, at times helping to expedite specific firm orders or working
with other stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.  Some customer support work centers on weekly open order
updates, periodic price list reviews and following-up on status of engineering drawings submitted for customer approval. 
A key element of the customer service role is also preparation of engineered-to-order transformer price quotations for one-
off project needs and larger multi-year bid opportunities. 
 Provide professional customer service and communication with internal and external customers.  Working most
often with the Carte Sales Team, Production Control, Product Team managers and Engineers/Designers to help
provide information, updates, and general customer support as needed for customer inquiries.  Direct interaction
with external customers at times depending on the nature of the inquiry and specific sales coverage for specific
 Regular tasks will include helping customers determine status of their open orders, revise technical aspects of
transformers on order, and aid in coordination of warranty repair work. Some tracking of specific orders may be
required to target critical on-site delivery dates.  Working collaboratively with Production Control and
Manufacturing to gain the required information or to assist in realigning priorities towards providing overall strong
customer service.
 Prepare quotations for customers based on technical specifications and established internal quotation methods
and strategies.  Meeting quotation deadlines is very important in terms of securing new work for the Company;
organizing and planning the active quotations to be priced is essential for success.  Proper updates to the
quotations database also required. 
 Assess opportunities to maximize price bid situations where non-standard products are requested by potential
 Work with Sales, Production Control and other functional areas to provide Customers the best possible product
shipment lead-time that can be offered (depending on scope and scale of the quotation inquiry).
 Understands, analyzes, documents, and communicates contractual and technical terms and conditions relative to the
company standard
 Strong customer support for a number of key long-term contract customers is central to this role, providing
updates, information, etc. and generally helping our customers have a positive experience.
 Post-secondary education in business administration (business certificate, business diploma or university
bachelor’s degree) or related field is preferred.
 Candidates with post-secondary education in electrical or mechanical technical stream (diploma program) may
also be considered.
 Combination of some post-secondary education and related work experience may be considered.
 Strong customer-focused approach in providing excellent customer service
 Superior customer service for both internal and external customers
 Dynamic, takes initiative, enthusiastic, positive attitude, adaptable, and open-minded
 Very strong English skills in both written and verbal communication
 Strong organizational skills (quotation storage, contract organization, database management)
 Computer skills: Excel, Word, Outlook.
