Responsibilities and Functions

• Complete pre-trip inspections
• Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as a top priorities
• Transport loads in a professional manner following the rules of the road and representing the company to the highest standards
• Superior customer service while driving and delivering materials and products
• Mostly highway driving
• Deliveries between Slegg locations, Sidney, Keating, Admirals, Langford and back (Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri)
• Deliveries between Langford, Duncan, Nanaimo and back (Tues)
• Be a leader in all aspects of safety; loading, strapping, time management, and communication
• Assures proper documentation accompanies all material being loaded onto or unloaded from the truck
• Flexible work hours each day in order to complete necessary delivery orders
• Loading trucks, and unloading materials by hand as required
• General housekeeping duties, stocking of merchandise or various yard and warehouse tasks are as required or directed by management.
• Practice and Promote workplace safety standards
• Physically demanding, must be able to lift heavy products

Required Skill and Qualifications

• A broad knowledge of building supplies
• Minimum valid Class 3 BC Drivers licence
• Previous driver and roll off experience
• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs repeatedly
• A positive can do attitude is essential!
