The Welder is responsible for performing welding and metal fabrication tasks that support the maintenance and repair of equipment, machinery, and facilities. This position involves carrying out structural, mechanical, and lubrication maintenance, as well as conducting preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and installations across various infrastructures, fleet, and machinery. The role ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry standards and company policies. As a collaborative member of the Infrastructure and Technical Services Department, the Welder contributes to a supportive, innovative, and team-focused work environment. The Class ‘A’ Mechanic will perform a wide range of maintenance and preventative maintenance activities including repair and maintenance of Toronto Port Authority’s vehicles and/or equipment. This position will accurately maintain vehicles and/or equipment records by recording service and repairs, keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, and maintain necessary supplies.
